Lyle Stang

water burn AND flash fires”
Lyle will be discussing steam and hot water burn hazards
within the oil and gas industry, current practices and limitations,
and an update on the standard for outerwear protection.
Lyle Stang has worked in the Oil and Gas industry since
1980 starting with Petro Canada in operations and maintenance sectors.
Since 1996 he has been full time in the Occupational Health and Safety
field within the Swift Current, Estevan, and Lloydminster areas, first
with Petro Canada then with Wascana/Nexen. Currently Lyle is the Manager
of Occupational Health and Safety for Nexen Canadian Oil and Gas Division
working out of the Calgary office.
Catherine Watson
“Lifecycle of a Well”
Catherine will speak on how activities are planned to
minimize our impact to the environment.
Over the past 6+ years, Catherine has worked at Cenovus
(formerly the EnCana Corporation) as Environmental Advisor. Her main
role is to provide professional environmental support to the Project
Engineers and various consultants in the Canadian Plains Region to
ensure that all new developments comply with regulatory environmental
requirements and our environmental practices. Most recently, Catherine
was the technical environmental coordinator for EnCana’s proposed
Shallow Gas Infill Drilling Program in the Suffield National Wildlife
Area. This project underwent a Joint Review Panel Hearing process
through CEAA.
Todd Hann

Todd Han is the Director of Petroleum Development Branch
with Saskatchewan Ministry of Energy and Resources. Todd has over
18 years of environmental protection and regulatory management experience
related to the upstream oil & gas industry.
Michael
Monea
“Integrated Carbon Capture & Sequestration Project”
Michael Monea was appointed vice-president of the Integrated
Carbon Capture and Sequestration project in October 2008.
Prior to his role with SaskPower, Monea was senior vice
president with Canada Capital Energy Corporation. He served as Executive
Director of the petroleum Technology Research Centre at the University
of Regina and has held a number of other executive and technical positions
in the oil and gas sector. In 2008 he was appointed into the society
of Petroleum Engineers Distinguished Lecture Program as an expert
in C02 storage.
Monea holds professional engineer and geoscientist designations
and received a Bachelor of Science from the university of Regina.
He serves as a board member with the Petroleum Technology Research
Centre and is chair of both the South Saskatchewan Geological Resources
Advisory Committee and Saskatchewan Conservation Board.
